BUCK HORN OUTFITTERS

Tom – (Outfitter Guide) Tom comes from generations of family in the Back-country. His Grandfather was one of the original members of the Idaho Outfitters & guides board and owned several back-country ranches in Idaho, where Tom spent much of his time helping out on the ranch as a little boy first as a wrangler then as a packer and hunting guide. Tom has spent a considerable amount of time learning the lay out of Willey ranches hunting area and Knows the lay out of the land and where the game is!

Casey – (Guide) Casey has years of hands on experience with Willey ranch, first as a young wrangler and then as a hunting Guide. Year in and year out Casey’s hunters are led to trophy bulls as he has been guiding in this area for years!

Sarah – (Cook & Wrangler) Sarah has been a cook and wrangler for over 17 years in Idaho’s back-country. Leaving home at 15 to work for a outfitter in Big Creek Idaho and learning first hand what it takes to cook and run a camp in the Back-country!

MAIN CAMP

We leave Yellow Pine on horseback in the morning and 6 hours later we arrive at Elk camp. Horseback is the only way in…and…the only way out. We pride ourselves on offering the cleanest and most organized camp. Our canvas-walled tents are complete with wood-burning stoves, drying rack and comfortable cots.

After a hard day’s hunt – there is nothing better than returning to camp – exhausted yet challenged and satisfied – to a warm fire, beverage of choice and an exceptional dinner to enjoy. Our food is simply outstanding – featuring a variety of hearty meals and Dutch oven dishes. We spare no expense in offering you a warm, comfortable and clean camp to return to after the day’s hunt.

DROP CAMP HUNTS

We offer 7 day drop camps 1 day in, 5 full days of hunting, and 1 day out in units 25, 20 A, and 19. Our drop camps have two wall tents, wood stoves, cots and foams, lanterns, a full kitchen set up and plenty of firewood in camp, all you need is your personal gear! We provide you with a satellite phone so if you get in any trouble or you have game down and the weather is too warm our packers can transport the game back to our freezer. We have a two person minimum and suggest no more than 4 hunters in a camp. We suggest purchasing maps of the area you will be hunting in from the Forest Service.
